Noah Riskin is an artist and educator whose work and teaching draw from a diverse realm of life experiences. An identical twin, high-level gymnast and coach, painter and environmental artist, it is the human body that informs and guides his work. In his own words:

“The body is the mystery and meaning of our experience as human beings. It is our sense of self, and, that with which we touch, feel and love; it is our “Song of the Earth” or living link to worlds natural and human.

In a scientific and technological society--with the numinosity of our experience lost to the sometimes blinding speed and light of reason--it is the body, forever rooted in the very mystery and origins of our existence, that captures the necessity of the unknown and therefore operates as a potent vehicle for the dance of knowing and not knowing that lends true meaning.”

Noah currently pursues his art, research and teaching as the Physical Intelligence Initiative Coordinator and Head Men’s Gymnastics Coach at MIT.

"It is the very inner form of earth that continues to
move within me
that has arisen with me
that is standing with me
that indeed remains stationary with me…"

Navajo “Song of the Earth” from The Blessing Way

“The hint half guessed, the gift half understood, is incarnation”.
